‘Life doesn’t come with a roadmap’. ‘Kids don’t come with owner’s manuals’. ‘We are a product of our upbringing’. ‘My parents just don’t listen’. or ‘It’s in the past, let it go’. Ever hear those phrases before?
Wouldn’t it be great if someone said ‘do this and you’ll be fine’. Well, sometimes we need a guide to help navigate the terrain called daily life. I know I did. There was something there, but I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
My journey through 35+ years assisting people through work and personal lives, I have earned insight into the daily challenges many people face. But it’s not just professional experience that informs my approach—it’s personal too.
I’ve navigated broken homes, single-parents, marriage, divorce, the blending of families, and the dynamics of addiction. I have loved ones with differing faiths and lifestyles than my own, and I would love to help break down the societal barriers or stigma that often prevent men from seeking the help they need. Whew, sounds like a lot to unpack. These experiences don’t make me an expert on your life, but they do give me a diverse perspective that might offer some insight that can apply to your situation.
My person-centred approach isn’t about telling you what’s right or what to do—it’s about ensuring first, that you, are truly seen and heard. Only then, working together, can we draw out your inner strengths and resilience while adding new tools to your mental health toolbox.
